Throughout my life I have been fortunate enough to take part in many research projects, travel the country, and even the world, but none of that would have been possible without a solid education. Learning about a wide range of subjects, from history, chemistry, astronomy, and even about art has helped me become a much more rounded individual. Curiosity has always been a trait of mine that I am proud of, this trait has its roots in my early childhood education.
Childhood Education
My entire childhood school experience was through the Upper Merion Area School District. This school district gave me an incredible foundation going into college at Millersville. Upper Merion offered a wide range of subjects, the most influential being geography. This is where the subject of meteorology was first experienced in 11th grade. I had always found the weather interesting but never knew too much about the subject until Mr. Crooks taught it as a portion of the class. I excelled in the course, even receiving the Upper Merion “geography award” my senior year of High School. This helped me in my search for colleges and even helped me receive a small, but meaningful, scholarship from the school district.
College
The fantastic teachers and cirriculum at Upper Merion brought me to Millersville University outside of Lancaster PA. I did a thorough write up of my experience there on this page.
Finally, after four wonderful years at Millersville, I moved on to graduate school at the University of Wyoming in Laramie Wyoming. Again, I did a much more thorough description here.
Life after College
Although I no longer receive grades of A,B or C, I truely believe that education never stops. In each of my jobs, I have learned something completely new. I taught myself PHP, HTML, MATLAB… the list can go on and on. I am thankful for the solid base my formal education created for me to build upon as I go through life.
